Adding and subtracting fractions

The adding and subtracting fractions API takes the numerators and denominators of two fractions, applies the operation you choose — addition or subtraction — and returns the result already reduced to its lowest terms.

Alongside the simplified fraction you get its sign, its mixed-number form when it is not an integer, and a decimal rendering, so the answer drops straight into homework checks, recipe scaling, measurement math or any pipeline that speaks in ratios instead of floats. A zero denominator is rejected with a clear error before any arithmetic happens.

The API is asynchronous: the call returns a task_id immediately and the result arrives by webhook. Polling is capped at 1 req/s per task.

Errors

HTTP	Code	Meaning
`401`	`unauthorized`	Missing or invalid API key.
`402`	`insufficient_balance`	Your balance doesn't cover the task price.
`404`	`unknown_type`	That task type doesn't exist.
`429`	`rate_limited`	Too many requests. Use the webhook instead of polling.
