Students, interpreters in training, accessibility writers, and product teams building study tools need a deterministic map from characters to those handshape names and a reverse path that rebuilds text from a sequence of labels. This ASL fingerspelling translator encodes plain text into stable snake_case handshape tokens, decodes those tokens back into letters and digits, and reports every character that has no standard fingerspelling handshape instead of failing the whole request. The algorithm is a fixed table with no model, network, or clock, so homework checks, LMS plugins, and continuous-integration fixtures always agree. The free browser widget runs on your device; the prepaid API charges $0.002 per successful item when servers need the same contract.

The API is asynchronous: the call returns a task_id immediately and the result arrives by webhook. Polling is capped at 1 req/s per task.
