Counting list items is a daily inventory task: paste a shopping list, a packing checklist, a roster of names, or a backlog of tickets and learn how many rows actually matter.

This list item counter accepts non-empty text with one entry per line, splits on carriage return, line feed, or CRLF pairs, then returns a stable item count. By default blank and whitespace-only lines are ignored so spacer rows do not inflate your inventory; turn that option off when every line segment—including trailing empties—should count. The free browser widget runs entirely on your device; the prepaid API charges $0.002 per successful item when servers need the same contract in bulk. Empty input fails with invalid input so pipelines never store zero-length payloads by accident.

The API is asynchronous: the call returns a task_id immediately and the result arrives by webhook. Polling is capped at 1 req/s per task.

Pricing

Per request$0.002

Published price — no tokens, no invented credits. A failed task is never charged.

Errors

HTTP	Code	Meaning
`401`	`unauthorized`	Missing or invalid API key.
`402`	`insufficient_balance`	Your balance doesn't cover the task price.
`404`	`unknown_type`	That task type doesn't exist.
`429`	`rate_limited`	Too many requests. Use the webhook instead of polling.
