This days-until-retirement-age calculator takes a validated birth date, a whole-year target age such as sixty-five or sixty-seven, and a reference as-of date, then returns the retirement calendar day and the whole Gregorian day count from that as-of date to the retirement day. The engine never reads the host clock: you always supply the reference date, so results stay reproducible in homework, HR spreadsheets, and continuous-integration fixtures. Leap-day births clamp to February twenty-eight when the retirement year is not a leap year. When the as-of date is already on or past the retirement day, the response marks already_retired and sets days remaining to zero while still reporting the signed day delta for audit trails. The same pure parse logic powers the free browser tool and the API path at $0.002 per successful call, so interactive planning and automated pipelines never disagree on a day count.

The API is asynchronous: the call returns a task_id immediately and the result arrives by webhook. Polling is capped at 1 req/s per task.

Errors

HTTP	Code	Meaning

`429`	`rate_limited`	Too many requests. Use the webhook instead of polling.
