Entropy change is the number chemists, physicists, and process engineers actually compute when they ask how disordered a system becomes after heat flows or after a reaction rearranges matter.

This entropy calculator returns that change in joules per kelvin using one of two textbook routes. When a system exchanges heat Q at a constant absolute temperature T, the reversible definition is ΔS = Q/T; temperature must sit above absolute zero because the ratio is undefined at 0 K and unphysical below it. When you instead have tabulated standard molar entropies for every species on both sides of a balanced equation, the identity is ΔS = Σ ν S°(products) − Σ ν S°(reactants). Supply either pair of inputs. The engine is pure arithmetic with no network, no model, and no random seed, so the free browser widget and the API at $0.002 per successful item always agree.
