For the standard horizontal form x squared over a squared minus y squared over b squared equals one, those lines are simply y equals plus or minus b over a times x, so the slopes are completely determined by the two semi-axes. This hyperbola asymptotes calculator accepts positive a and b, returns both slopes, the slope-intercept equations, and the matching implicit forms, and rejects a zero semi-axis because division by zero would make the slopes undefined. Students, CAD helpers, and exam generators can share one deterministic JSON result instead of re-deriving the ratio by hand. The free browser widget and the prepaid API path run the same pure module, so homework checks and production scripts always agree on the digits.
