Catan number pip dots calculator
This Catan number pip-dots calculator converts a printed hex token into the exact pip-dot count that shows how often that number pays when two six-sided dice are rolled.
Run — free
Settlers of Catan marks each production chit with one through five dots: those dots are not decoration, they are the number of ways to roll that face with two dice, so a six or an eight (five dots, red ink) pays far more often than a two or a twelve (one dot). You enter a single token from two through twelve except seven, the robber, which has no production chit. The engine returns the pip count, the matching two-dice ways out of thirty-six, a reduced fraction, a percent, whether the token is a red high-frequency number, the complementary face that shares the same odds, a payout rank, and the full ten-token chart. Nothing is sampled and nothing calls a network service. Use it at the table when you compare intersections, or call the API at $0.002 per successful request when you need reproducible fixtures for teaching tools, bots, or tests.

Complete the fields above and run it on this page. The form highlights anything that needs attention.
For developers — API access
Everything on this page is available programmatically. This section is for teams who want to wire it into their own systems; everyone else can just use the tool above.
API endpoint
Prefer to automate it? One authenticated POST creates the task; the result comes back by webhook or a signed link. The same capability also runs here on the web, by email and from Telegram — and soon from our app too.
